Todd Wagenhorst

President / Founder

Mr. Wagenhorst retired in early 2024 from federal civil service after 40 years with the Department of Defense.  The last several years of his career is where he made a difference through mentoring the lives of active duty service members.  His efforts ultimately lead to the startup of the nonprofit “Task Force Spark” in order to continue helping active duty and veterans alike into his retirement years.  He’s passionate about mentoring, outdoor activities and fostering mental health which are all tied together in the nonprofit.

Joshua "Brent" Blythe

Vice President / Co-Founder

Brent is an active duty service member by day, a bionic warrior by virtue, and ultra-marathon running enthusiast by heart. He was born in Del Rio, Texas, spent his early childhood in Memphis, Tennessee, and graduated High School in Vilonia, Arkansas. Brent holds a Bachelors in Economics from the University of California - San Diego, a Masters of Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a MBA with focus in Acquisition and Contract Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. Brent is a father to one amazing daughter aka his adventure buddy. They currently live in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Drew Malia

Secretary / Co-Founder

Drew was born and raised in Owego, New York. His appreciation for the outdoors began at a young age while camping and hiking with friends and family. Drew completed the Northville-Placid Trail and hiked the Adirondack High Peaks to become an ADK 46er. Since then, Drew has continued to explore local and national parks while stationed in North Carolina, California, and Virginia. As a husband and father, spending time outside continues to have a positive impact on his overall wellbeing. Now, as a co-founder of Task Force Spark, he looks forward to connecting with others to share his passion for exploring and experiencing all our great nation has to offer.

Billy Barefoot

Treasurer / Co-Founder

Billy was born and raised in the vibrant city of Fort Worth, Texas.  He is a loving husband and doting father who enlisted in the Marine Corps in June 2007, and eventually commissioned in 2018 - but not before charting a path for an unconventional journey from military service in 2011 to the world of finance and back again.  Billy has a background in proprietary data, investment analytics, and manpower affairs.  Billy strives to coach others into finding their own way - just like he has - and now as a co-founder of Task Force Spark, he seeks to share his values of community, patriotism, a deep sense of duty, and an unyielding quest for purpose!
